Alex Williamson, Managing Director & Co-Founder

Alex is the co-founder and managing director of Bio-Based World News a multi platform media and events business focussed exclusively on the adoption and commercialisation of bio-based processes, chemicals and products. News, information, innovation and networking via our global Bio-Based Chemicals and Products event series and the Bio-Based World News publication. Alex has an extensive entrepreneurial track record in delivering global events with experience across multiple industries and regions.
 
Luke Upton, Editor & Co-Founder

Luke is the editor and a co-founder of Bio-Based World News and previously worked for b2b media companies across industries including energy, transport, advertising and sport.  His role includes writing, editing and commissioning features for the Bio-Based World Quarterly and management of all commercial and 3rd party content.  A regular contributor to the trade press, Luke also moderates conference discussions and advises on social media strategy within the industry.


Stephen Scott, Marketing Manager

 
Steve has worked in marketing for over eight years with experience in developing effective marketing strategies for a wide range of events with four years of managing marketing execution teams. He studied English Literature at the University of East Anglia before embarking on a career in Marketing.

Rosie Nixon, Head of Operations

 
Rosie took a degree in Film and Theatre at Reading University before almost accidentally becoming a Functions Manager and Wedding Planner within a hotel in her hometown. It is there that she realised she wanted a career in events. So after a couple of years at the hotel, and a season in the Alps as Assistant Manager of a ski hotel, she moved into the corporate events world as Operations Manager for Bio-Based World News' global events.
 
Sarah Wright, Marketing Executive
 
 
Post studying for a Masters in History at the University of Essex and taking time out to travel Europe and South East Asia, Sarah came into the world of events and marketing. She has been putting her communication skills and creativity to good use here with us since.
 
Liam Clancy, Project Manager
 
 

Having started out selling delegate passes for conferences in Mining Investment, Liam progressed through the events hierarchy in different industries to eventually settle as a Sales Manager in renewables. Initially he was working with clean energies such as Solar and Wind but now his sole focus is clean and renewable chemicals.

On graduating with a degree in English Literature at Royal Holloway University of London, Emily joined the editorial team.  When she isn't writing articles for the website or interviewing experts in the industry she enjoys reading, running and sailing.
 
Tolu Babalola, Delegate Acquisition Manager

Tolu finished a degree in Accounting and Finance at the University of Essex and since then has had related experience in sales and managing new and existing client portfolios. He is an avid footballer and trained to a semi-professional level before attending university.
