Following university Rosie stated work as a Functions Manager and Wedding Planner within a hotel and realised she wanted a career in events. So after a couple of years at the hotel, and a season in the Alps as Assistant Manager of a ski hotel, she moved into the corporate events world, working her way up to Operations Director.
Rosie’s favourite sustainable product is her stainless steel Chilli’s bottle, which she carries round with her most days, keeping her water chilled and preventing her from having to ever buy a plastic bottle on the go.
Towards the end of my past life in Cape Town, I exchanged a career in banking for an opportunity to grow with a London-based Oil & Gas events business. An invaluable experience which ironically lead me on a journey towards joining the Bio-based World News team. In my new life, I am fortunate enough to help innovative thinkers adopt the strategies, partnerships, funding and technology required to grow sustainable businesses at scale that in many cases support a circular economy. In my spare time, I am a self-taught landscape, portrait and travel photographer and long distance runner.
My favourite bio-based product is the reusable ‘ecoffee cup’ made from natural, sustainably sourced bamboo fibre. As a self-confessed coffee addict, it would be foolish of me not to support a company that is actively addressing the war on plastic coffee cups, helping people save money with every coffee purchased without compromising on product cost and performance.

Mike has a background in understanding what really makes markets 'tick' and developing marketing opportunities, campaigns and partnerships that enable companies in that space to grow, with measurable return. His experience ranges from creating and selling partnerships for magazine owners, events companies and a specialist contract publishing agency - all across a wide range of markets.
He has worked in two startups, had his own business and also worked for the largest engineering & technology body in the UK. Mike is trusted by some of the UK's best-known member organisations, as well as international trade bodies, to help their audiences connect with valued partners - spanning across both B2B and B2C - and across all media whether digital, events, print, recruitment, direct mail or lead generation. Mike is committed to the bio-based industry and helping it to grow to the level it deserves. He is particularly excited about some of the biomass processing technologies launching at the moment.
