Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center, Columbus, Ohio, USA.
Making products from plants takes ingenuity and perseverance; getting them to market requires similar skills. This workshop will bring together experts from industry and Ohio State University to share ideas and experiences for the development and commercialization of biobased fuels and products. The keynote speaker, Roger Wyse with Spruce Capital Partners, will provide an investor’s perspective on funding opportunities and constraints as well as how to position a product or company to be competitive for raising capital. Other speakers will address a wide range of topics from the use of big data to optimize feedstock logistics to evaluating scale-up potential. Several case studies from successful entrepreneurs will provide insights into the real world of product development and commercialization. In addition, a networking event with a farm tour and barbecue, hosted by the Ohio Soybean Council, will be held the evening before for all registered participants.
The workshop is open to everyone. Registration, which includes the networking event, is $60 on or before August 27; and $75 after that date. A special student rate of $30 is available, but registrations must be received on or before August 27.

Join us for the inaugural “Canadian BioDesign Conference” hosted by Bioindustrial Innovation Canada (BIC) and Lambton College on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.
We are on a mission to support highly-innovative Canadian firms, developing new biomass-to-bioproducts technologies, as they seek to commercialise new bio-based products. A novel global industry based on biomass is arising today, and with this industry growing rapidly, Canada has an unprecedented opportunity to participate and drive the development of this new industry as a prime mover. With this in mind, we invite you to participate in the inaugural Canadian BioDesign Conference.
BioDesign is a cohort of industry, research and association stakeholders focused on accelerating Canada’s bioeconomy by leveraging growing international and domestic market pull for supply chains that accelerate the transition to a sustainable low-carbon society.
BioDesign’s strategy is designed to be a comprehensive catalyst mobilizing multiple industry partners, attracting international partners and investment, building on regional strengths, creating jobs, and sustaining a strong innovation culture. As the inaugural BioDesign conference, Sarnia-Lambton will be emphasising the activities in Ontario with the intention to have this conference hosted across Canada in future years.
